Welcome to Northside Farm Retreat

Northside Farm was originally a dairy farm dating back to 17th Century. The farmhouse was a traditional Teesdale longhouse, which since 2001 has undergone some dramatic changes, we hope sympathetic and in keeping with the original character of the building.  We have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to extend and enlarge the property to provide us with a comfortable home for our family and with overflow accommodation for our relatives and friends.

Connies Cottage provides spacious and comfortable room for four adults, which despite connecting to our house is entirely self contained and available for breaks of between short 4 day breaks or weekly breaks.

Connie's Cottage

Accessed straight from the A66, 13 miles from Scotch Corner and the A1.  An hour from York, Newcastle and Durham. Within an hours drive to the very heart of the Lake District and also 40 minutes drive from Durham Tees Valley airport.

Teesdale is one of the less well known Pennine Dales but all the better for this.  The source of the River Tees in the upper dale is close to the boundaries with Cumbria and within a short distance of the source of the River South Tyne & Wear - making up the three iconic rivers of the North East. The Tees flows down the valley over Cauldron Snout and the highest waterfall in England at High Force.  The historical market town of Barnard Castle is the main town offering a full range of shops and facilities, particularly well known for its range of antique shops and the world renowned Bowes Museum.
